At Village Medical, we believe healthcare is about more than treating illness, it is about building healthier, stronger and more connected communities.

The Village Medical Community Connections Program was created to recognise and support the incredible not-for-profit organisations, charities, volunteer groups and community organisations that dedicate themselves to improving the lives of others across the Limestone Coast.

Through this initiative, Village Medical provides a one-time $500 Community Grant each month to an eligible local organisation selected through a fair and transparent random draw process.

Because when we support those who support our community, the load becomes a little lighter.

Why We Created the Program

The Village Medical Community Connections Program was born from recognising the growing gaps in community connection and the increasing demands placed on many local not-for-profit organisations.

Every day, we see organisations quietly making an incredible difference in the lives of individuals and families. Many rely on volunteers, fundraising and the generosity of the community to continue providing essential services.

We wanted to find a meaningful way to give back.

Rather than creating another sponsorship program, we created a simple initiative that allows us to recognise and support the organisations that support our community.

How It Works

  1. Community nominations open each month.
  2. All nominations are reviewed against the eligibility criteria.
  3. Eligible organisations are entered into a verified random draw.
  4. One organisation receives a $500 Community Grant.
  5. The successful organisation is celebrated through our Community Connections Program.

Eligibility

Eligible organisations include:

  • Registered charities
  • Not-for-profit organisations
  • Incorporated associations
  • Volunteer organisations
  • Sporting clubs
  • Community organisations
  • Community groups
  • Local initiatives benefiting the Limestone Coast The following are not eligible:
    • Individuals seeking financial assistance
    • Commercial or for-profit businesses
    • Political organisations
    • Organisations promoting unlawful or discriminatory activities

Previous recipients may submit a new nomination after 12 months.

Governance

The Community Connections Program is funded and administered by Village Medical.

To ensure the Program remains fair and transparent:

  • Every nomination is assessed against the published eligibility criteria.
  • All eligible organisations are entered into a verified random draw.
  • Organisations nominated by a third party are contacted to obtain consent before inclusion in the draw.
  • Recipient information is managed in accordance with privacy obligations.
  • Village Medical maintains registers of nominations and recipients to ensure transparency and appropriate record keeping.
